As a communications expert and a lover of life, I do my work not just professionally but personally.
For the last twenty years, I have been sharing my passion for speaking, writing, and storytelling. Consequently, my fulfillment happens when I am certain that I have helped young and adult learners alike become more empowered versions of themselves.
I am the co-founder of Amihan English Center (AEC), an organization that equips young and adult learners with highly proficient English communication skills. We help people from different professions and cultures realize their academic and career goals using English as the global language.
More importantly, as a committed community volunteer, I use my God-given skills to bridge the learning gap among young learners in a community that we mold so that, in turn, they can build their confidence and get better jobs for themselves and their families.
So at AEC, we do not only provide training and curriculum for paying students and institutions. We strive to teach young learners from our supported community to read and write through play, storytelling and interactive learning -- tapping into their multiple-intelligences.
I constantly promote the causes that I believe in, such as training and development for all, influencing working students reach their maximum potential, and engaging my family in things that I care about. I strive to achieve my ultimate goal- when I face God one day, I will hear Him say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!".
Task-Based Learning (TBL) helps ESL learners by focusing on meaningful communication and real-world tasks rather than isolated grammar drills. It encourages learners to use language naturally while completing tasks such as problem-solving, role-playing, or collaborative projects. This approach enhances fluency, builds confidence, and improves critical thinking skills.
Additionally, TBL supports learner engagement by making language use relevant and purposeful, leading to better retention and practical application in real-life situations.
This is how the performance of learners looks at AEC.
We improve our learners' essential communication skills for the workplace with our dynamic Business English training programs, covering everything from effective meeting facilitation to polished presentations and professional email writing.
Together with the AEC Team, I create and facilitate Business English training programs for adult learners from different industries and countries. Here is a sample Meeting Facilitation Performance Report for one learner who works for a global company in Germany.
AEC has recently added the English Test Preparation Training as a bridge program for learners who need to ace the following international tests:
- TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)
- CAE (Cambridge Assessment English)
- PTE (Pearson Test of English
We also provide a training program for Spanish senior high school learners who aim to excel at the English test of Spain's public university exam called EBAU (Evaluación de Bachillerato para Acceso a la Universidad )
We tap into our young learners' imagination and creativity so that they can tell stories about what they make, do, or learn every day.
Using international training and assessment standards like the Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR) and Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), we design curricula for Workplace English, Developmental Reading, English Test Preparation, and Customer Relations.
We work closely with institutions providing task-based online and face-to-face training programs for their students. Each curriculum is composed of:
-Assessment Tests
-Course Outline
- Program Description
- Instructor's Guide
- Lesson Guide
- Review Quizzes
- Reinforcement Exercises
We also provide the Training the Trainers Program for new ESL teachers.
I perceive it as a calling to pass on this gift of teaching, so come along with me as I unravel what it is ABOUT.
